Falling eventually means flying

Lexi and I have been in her room, on her bed, the last 45 minutes practicing falling. Yes, you heard me right. Falling. A few weeks ago Lexi got her backbend down during practice. She was so excited to come home and show her dad. She arched perfectly and BAM, landed right on her head. She was hurt, her confidence was gone, and the tears were flowing. We have been working hard on getting it down again but it just hasn’t been happening. Today when she asked if we could work on it, I approached it a little differently. Normally, I support her back and she gets it down no problem. I take away that support, and there goes the confidence and we are back to no arching and just falling backwards.

So today, we talked first. I asked her WHY she wanted to be able to do a backbend. I asked her what was holding her back  from getting her backbend (in 5 year old terms of course!) We all know that motivation ultimately comes from WITHIN. I can push her and encourage her all darn day, but until she decides she is READY to COMMIT to getting that backbend, it’s not happening. So she told me her reasons, and talked about how she is scared she’s going to fall on her head again. So we practiced falling. Because let’s be honest; she’s going to fall time and time again. She is going to FAIL over and over again until one day, it clicks. Then she will move onto something new, and fall and fail over and over until the day she doesn’t.

We started with my hand at her back, just like always. Once she was good with that, I took the support away. She arched correctly and fell right on that head (on the mattress). But this time, she not only had encouragement to get back up and try again, but she was reminded of WHY she wanted to be able to do this backbend. We did this about 15 times with her. She landed on her head and her forearms, over and over. But she was falling the CORRECT way. She was finally over the fear of arching her back and trusting that she was going to land the way she’s supposed to. I’m sure there is a much more technical way to describe this, but I’m not a cheer coach. After about 30 minutes, she finally got those hands under her. And THEN….she did it. And she did it again and again, over and over. Each time feeling more and more confident and more and more successful. Does this mean her first time at tumbling tonight she’s going to rock that beautiful, strong backbend? Nope….she will need her coach to support and encourage her a few times and then she will be ready to do it on her own. It might not be perfect, but it will be better than the last time.

So I’m sure you know where I’m going with this J It clicked with me that this is EXACTLY what I do as a Beachbody coach. No, I’m not an expert on fitness and nutrition, but I DO know how to support, encourage, and motivate you.  Again, ultimately it’s going to be up to YOU to actually get up and push play every day. It’s YOUR choice to meal plan and prep and stick with it, even when there's a batch of chocolate chip cookies sitting in front of you. I've noticed that a lot of us all start off great and then we FALL somewhere along the way. And we don’t have that support system to pick us back up and give us tips, advice, and encouragement. Or we don’t have the tools we need. Before I joined my first challenge group, I had NO FREAKIN CLUE where to even begin with clean eating and meal prep. It was a foreign and scary language to me! But I had an amazing support system. Every time I started to FALL, I told my group. Maybe I fell off track with my food, maybe I skipped a workout. Instead of just giving up and saying screw it, I turned to those people and turned my falling into flying. I have failed time and time again since starting my journey in February. I have failed both personally in regards to meal prep, working out, etc. and I have failed with my business. But each time I fail, I get stronger. Each time I fail, I have all these amazing people here to help me turn that failure into a success. Because of failing over and over again, I am earning pretty darn good weekly paychecks. Because of my failures, I’ve met more and more really awesome men and women.
Because of my failures, I'm able to connect with my challengers and give them real advice and tips on how to overcome THEIR failures.

I believe in what I do and this company so much, that for the month of July I am willing to buy either PiYo or the 3 Day Refresh FOR YOU when you purchase a Shakeology challenge pack! All I ask of you is that you are READY to fall and get back up. If you are going to fall and just give up, you aren’t ready. If you are ready to see what happens when you fall and get back up, let's chat.
Even more, Beachbody believes in what they do and their products so much that they offer a 30 day money back guarantee! So, if you try the 3 Day Refresh or PiYo and decided it's not for you, return it and get your money back (remember, I'm actually buying this for you!). Even better: we believe in Shakeology so much that we offer a bottom of the bag guarantee. Empty the whole darn bag and if you don't feel a difference or if you hate it, give Beachbody a call and you get your money back. You serioulsy have NOTHING to lose here.

So.....who's ready to fall with me?!
